Head Pastry Chef in Bergen, Norway
We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Pastry Chef to join our team in Bergen, Norway. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for all aspects of pastry production, including creating new menu items, overseeing the kitchen staff, and maintaining high quality standards. You will also be responsible for managing inventory and ensuring that all equipment is well-maintained.
Responsibilities:
- Create and update pastry menus with new and innovative items
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to maintain consistent quality
- Oversee daily production schedules to ensure timely delivery of pastries
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen
- Develop relationships with local suppliers for fresh ingredients
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-volume establishment
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, flavor pairing, and presentation
- Ability to lead a team and work well under pressure
- Excellent time management skills
- Fluent in English (Norwegian language skills preferred)
- Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or related field is a plus
