Pastry Chef
Our well-established bakery in Bergen is seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing pastries, as well as a strong understanding of baking techniques and ingredients. This is a full-time position with a salary of 1000$ per week.
Responsibilities:
- Create and prepare various types of pastries, including cakes, cookies, croissants, and other baked goods
- Develop new recipes and menu items while also maintaining the quality and consistency of existing products
- Ensure all pastries are prepared in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Order and maintain inventory of baking supplies, equipment, and ingredients
- Train and supervise junior pastry staff members
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate timing for baked goods to be served with meals or at events
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and techniques to continuously improve the quality of our products
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Creativity and ability to develop new recipes and menu items
- Understanding of food safety regulations
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with other kitchen staff members
- A passion for creating high-quality pastries that exceed customer expectations
Preferred:
- Degree or diploma in Baking/Pastry Arts from an accredited culinary school
or equivalent experience/certifications
- Experience working in a high-end bakery or restaurant setting
