Research Scientist - Computer Science

As a Research Scientist in the field of Computer Science, you will be responsible for conducting research and developing innovative solutions to complex problems. Your main focus will be on advancing the field of computer science through experimental design and analysis. You will work with a team of fellow scientists and engineers to identify areas for research, develop hypotheses, design experiments, gather and analyze data, and present findings. Additionally, you will collaborate with industry partners to apply your research to real-world problems.

To excel in this role, you must have a strong background in computer science, including expertise in programming languages, algorithms, data structures, and machine learning techniques. You should also have excellent analytical skills and be able to think critically and creatively. A strong understanding of research methodology is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
- Identify areas for research within the field of computer science
- Develop hypotheses and design experiments to test them
- Gather and analyze data using various tools and techniques
- Collaborate with industry partners to apply research findings to real-world problems
- Present findings through reports, publications or presentations
- Continuously stay up-to-date with advancements in computer science

Requirements:
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience conducting research in computer science
- Strong knowledge of programming languages such as C++, Java or Python
- Proficiency in algorithm design and analysis
- Experience with data structures and machine learning techniques
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to think critically
- Strong understanding of research methodology
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment

Salary: $1000 per month (with accommodation)
Location: Alta (preferably Norwegian or EU citizen)
