Junior Typesetter



Our publishing company in Alta is seeking a Junior Typesetter to join our team. As a typesetter, you will play a crucial role in the design and layout of our printed materials, ensuring that they are visually appealing and easy to read for our readers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for typography and design to gain hands-on experience in the publishing industry.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with editors and graphic designers to understand the purpose and audience of each publication
- Use computer software to arrange text, images, and other visual elements on a page
- Adjust font sizes, styles, and spacing to create an aesthetically pleasing layout
- Ensure consistency in formatting across all pages of a publication
- Proofread content for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors
- Make necessary revisions based on feedback from editors or designers
- Meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality work

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; degree in graphic design or related field is a plus
- Strong understanding of typography principles and design software such as Adobe InDesign
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot errors in text or layout
- Basic knowledge of printing processes and color management
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with others in a team setting
- Proven time-management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively

Salary: $1000 per month

This position is suitable for someone without previous experience as training will be provided. However, candidates with prior experience in typesetting or graphic design will be given preference.
