Preservation Architect
Our architectural firm in Alta is seeking a Preservation Architect to join our team on a contract basis. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historic buildings and structures, ensuring they meet current safety and building codes while maintaining their historical integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting site surveys and assessments of historic buildings and structures
- Developing preservation plans and strategies for restoration projects
- Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure projects are executed effectively
- Providing technical expertise on preservation techniques, materials, and methods
- Obtaining necessary permits and approvals from local authorities for restoration projects
- Overseeing the construction process to ensure compliance with preservation plans and standards
- Conducting quality control inspections during and after restoration work
- Maintaining accurate project documentation, including reports, drawings, and photographs
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture with a specialization in Historic Preservation
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Preservation Architect or similar role
- Knowledge of historic preservation principles, building codes, and regulations
- Strong understanding of construction techniques, materials, and methods used in historic buildings
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders involved in restoration projects
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
- Biometric passport or eligibility to obtain one (if not already possessing one)
Salary:
This is a contract position with a salary of $1600 per month. Accommodation will be provided for the duration of the contract.
