Sous Chef - Alta, Norway
We are looking for a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at our upscale restaurant in Alta, Norway. As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Executive Chef to lead and manage the kitchen team in creating and delivering exceptional culinary experiences for our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef in developing menus and creating new dishes
- Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen and ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to help them grow
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control to ensure profitability
- Collaborate with front of house staff to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction
- Act as a role model for professionalism, teamwork, and culinary excellence
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- A passion for food and creativity in developing new dishes
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Sous Chef
- Must have authorization to work in Norway
