Head Librarian


As the Head Librarian at our library in Alta, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the library's operations and managing a team of librarians and support staff. Your primary role will be to ensure that our library provides high-quality services and resources to our community.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve library services
- Manage the library's budget and allocate resources effectively
- Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate librarians and support staff
- Develop collections that meet the needs of the community
- Ensure the organization, cataloging, and maintenance of all materials in the library
- Stay updated on current trends in library science and technology to improve services
- Collaborate with community organizations to promote literacy and cultural events
- Handle patron inquiries, complaints, and requests for assistance
- Organize educational programs for all age groups
- Monitor library usage statistics and make data-driven decisions for improvement

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a librarian, with previous supervisory experience preferred
- Thorough understanding of library systems, technologies, and best practices
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patrons of diverse backgrounds
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team towards common goals
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Proficiency in using electronic resources such as databases, e-books, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a multicultural environment
- Knowledge of local culture and languages
- Familiarity with biometric passport systems

Salary: $1500 per month (negotiable based on qualifications)
