Junior Librarian
Location: Alta, Norway


We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Junior Librarian to join our team in Alta, Norway. As a Junior Librarian, you will be responsible for assisting with the daily operations and management of the library, including maintaining collections, providing reference services, and assisting with programming and events.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with maintaining and organizing the library's collection of books, audiovisual materials, and other resources
- Provide reference services to library patrons, including helping them locate materials and answering research questions
- Assist with developing and implementing programming and events for library patrons of all ages
- Help promote library resources and services through various outreach efforts
- Maintain accurate records of library transactions and patron information
- Help manage the library's budget by monitoring expenditures and recommending cost-saving measures
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth operation of the library
- Stay up-to-date on current trends in libraries and new technologies to enhance services

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Biometric passport (or ability to obtain one)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of library cataloging systems
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Previous experience working in a library is preferred but not required
- Must have a passion for books, learning, and helping others

Salary:
Starting salary for this position is 1400$ per month.
