Instrument Technician - Contract Position in Alta, Canada

Our client, a leading oil and gas company, is seeking an experienced Instrument Technician for a contract position in Alta, Canada. As an Instrument Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all instruments and systems used in their oil and gas production facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic and pneumatic instrumentation such as pressure transmitters, flow meters, control valves, and analyzers
- Conduct calibration of instruments to ensure accurate readings
- Troubleshoot and repair control systems including PLCs and DCS
- Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Participate in the installation of new instruments and systems as needed
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Comply with all safety procedures and regulations while working on site

Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Instrument Technician in the oil and gas industry
- Diploma or certificate in Instrumentation Technology or related field
- Extensive knowledge of instrumentation principles, troubleshooting techniques, and maintenance practices
- Experience working with PLCs and DCS systems is required
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics effectively
- Strong computer skills with experience using CMMS software preferred
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
