Executive Sous Chef
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our team at a luxury hotel in La-Condamine. As the second-in-command in the kitchen, you will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee all aspects of food preparation, menu planning, and kitchen operations. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in fine dining and be able to lead and motivate a team of chefs and kitchen staff. This is a demanding and fast-paced role that requires excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. A competitive salary of 1500$ will be offered to the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Executive Chef in menu planning, food cost control, and creating innovative dishes
- Supervising and training kitchen staff on proper food handling techniques
- Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Managing inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed
- Monitoring kitchen equipment maintenance and repairs
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction
- Handling any guest complaints or special requests promptly
- Maintaining a positive working relationship with suppliers and vendors
Requirements:
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience in fine dining establishments
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Executive Sous Chef or similar role
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, cuisines, ingredients, and flavors
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop junior staff members
- Proficient in managing multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to work long hours, weekends, holidays as needed in a high-pressure environment
- Fluency in English (French is a plus)
- Valid food handler's certification
