Part-Time Librarian at Fonvieille Public Library


We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our team at the Fonvieille Public Library. This is a part-time contract position, perfect for students or individuals looking for supplemental income. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a library setting and possess strong customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patrons with locating and checking out materials such as books, DVDs, and digital resources
- Answer reference questions and provide research assistance
- Maintain accurate records of library materials and patron accounts
- Plan and conduct educational programs for all ages, including storytimes and book clubs
- Keep the library clean and organized, including shelving materials and ensuring shelves are properly labeled
- Collaborate with other library staff to plan events and programs
- Stay updated on library policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations

Requirements:
- Experience working in a library or similar environment preferred
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work with patrons of all ages
- Familiarity with online catalog systems and basic computer skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work independently
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

Salary:
The salary for this position is $1700 per month.

Location:
This position is located in Fonvieille, a beautiful coastal city known for its vibrant arts scene. While not required, French language proficiency is preferred due to the city's French-speaking population.
