Interpreter - Greenlandic/English

We are seeking a highly skilled Interpreter to join our team in Greenland. As an interpreter, you will be responsible for providing accurate and culturally sensitive interpretation services between Greenlandic and English speakers. This is a full-time position with a salary of $1100 per month.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide interpretation services in person, over the phone, or via video conference for meetings, conferences, and other events.
- Ensure accurate and professional communication between Greenlandic and English speakers.
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality while interpreting.
- Research and stay up-to-date on relevant terminology in both languages.
- Prepare materials and resources for interpreting assignments.
- Collaborate with other interpreters and team members to ensure quality interpretation services are provided.
- Attend training sessions to improve interpreting skills.

Requirements:

- Fluent in both Greenlandic and English.
- Proven experience as an interpreter or similar role is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening and speaking clearly.
- Strong knowledge of cultural nuances and sensitivity when dealing with language barriers.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations professionally.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends when needed.
- Must have legal authorization to work in Greenland.
