Freelance Interpreter

We are seeking a skilled Freelance Interpreter to join our team in Greenland. As a Freelance Interpreter, you will be responsible for providing accurate and culturally sensitive interpretation services for clients in various settings such as meetings, conferences, and legal proceedings.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality interpretation services from the source language to the target language
- Facilitate effective communication between parties by accurately conveying the meaning and tone of messages
- Maintain confidentiality and neutrality in all interactions with clients
- Research and prepare relevant terminology and materials prior to appointments
- Adhere to professional standards and code of ethics for interpreters
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and new vocabulary in both languages

Requirements:
- Fluency in both source and target language (e.g. English-Greenlandic)
- Exceptional verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and accurately
- Proven experience as an interpreter in a professional setting (minimum 2 years)
- Strong knowledge of cultural norms, customs, and etiquette in both languages
- Excellent listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and work well in fast-paced environments
- Must have access to reliable transportation for travel to appointments

Salary: $1700 per month (part-time)
