Preservation Architect

As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures in the city of Herning, Denmark. Your primary role will be to assess the condition of existing structures, develop preservation plans, and oversee restoration projects. You will collaborate with other architects, engineers, and construction professionals to ensure that preservation work meets all necessary safety and building code requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of historical buildings and structures to determine their condition and identify any areas in need of preservation or restoration
- Develop comprehensive preservation plans that address structural issues, historical significance, and budget constraints
- Oversee restoration projects from start to finish, ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget
- Liaise with clients, contractors, engineers, and other professionals involved in preservation projects
- Ensure that all preservation work complies with relevant building codes and local regulations
- Research historical building techniques and materials to inform restoration decisions
- Document all stages of preservation work for record-keeping purposes

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture with a focus on Historic Preservation or a related field
- Proven experience in preserving historical buildings and structures
- Extensive knowledge of architectural history, materials, construction techniques, and conservation principles
- Familiarity with relevant building codes and regulations
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to travel for site visits within the city of Herning
Salary: $1100 per month (negotiable based on experience)
