Sous Chef
As a Sous Chef at our restaurant in Herning, Denmark, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operations. You will use your culinary expertise and leadership skills to create and execute delicious and visually appealing dishes that meet our high standards of quality and taste.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in creating menus and recipes that showcase local ingredients and reflect current food trends
- Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards and served on time
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior kitchen staff to maintain consistency in food quality and presentation
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure proper storage of all food items
- Monitor food costs to ensure profitability while maintaining quality standards
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in the kitchen
- Collaborate with other departments to plan special events and catering menus
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant setting
- Culinary degree or equivalent training preferred
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
- Ability to create new dishes while adhering to budget constraints and customer preferences
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
