Head Pastry Chef
We are looking for an experienced and creative Head Pastry Chef to join our team in Herning, Denmark. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our pastry department and ensuring the highest quality of pastries and desserts are produced. You will also lead a team of pastry chefs and provide guidance and training to ensure their growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and present a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Create new and innovative pastry items to add to our menu
- Oversee ordering of ingredients and supplies to maintain inventory levels
- Supervise a team of pastry chefs, including scheduling shifts, delegating tasks, and providing feedback on performance
- Train new pastry chefs on recipes, techniques, and safety procedures
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with other departments to plan menus for special events or promotions
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-volume kitchen environment
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, equipment, and safety procedures
- Creativity in developing new pastries while also maintaining consistency with existing menu items
- Ability to manage inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and control costs
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with team members from diverse backgrounds
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
