Reference Librarian

We are in search of a highly organized and knowledgeable Reference Librarian to join our team at our library in Faroe-Islands. As the Reference Librarian, you will be responsible for providing reference services to library patrons, assisting with information inquiries, and managing the library's collection. This is an urgent job and visa sponsorship is available for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patrons with reference inquiries and research needs
- Conduct information searches using various databases and resources
- Manage the library's collection by organizing, cataloging, and maintaining materials
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations to promote library services
- Create user-friendly guides and tutorials to assist patrons in utilizing library resources
- Collaborate with other librarians to plan and implement programs and events for all ages

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- At least 2 years of experience as a librarian or in a similar role
- Knowledge of reference tools such as databases, online resources, and print materials
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred:
- Master's degree in Library Science or related field
- Experience working in a public library setting
- Familiarity with cataloging systems such as MARC or AACR2

Salary: $1700 per month (negotiable based on experience)

Location: Faroe Islands (visa sponsorship available)
