PHP Developer

The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in PHP development and be able to work independently on complex projects. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented and has a strong understanding of web development principles. This is a contract job with the potential for full-time employment based on performance. Accommodation can be provided for the right candidate. Biometric passport is preferred but not required. Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain complex PHP applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement new features
- Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise
- Optimize application performance to ensure scalability and reliability
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Strong proficiency in PHP programming language
- Experience working with MySQL databases
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web development languages
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred:
- Previous experience working in a contract job environment
- Familiarity with MVC frameworks (e.g. Laravel, CodeIgniter)
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git)
- Knowledge of server-side caching techniques (e.g. Memcached, Redis)
