Preservation Architect
As a Preservation Architect in Aalborg, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historic buildings and structures. This includes conducting site surveys, researching historical documents, and creating preservation plans. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and government agencies to ensure that historic buildings are properly maintained and restored according to established guidelines and standards. Your role will also involve coordinating with engineers, historians, and other professionals to implement preservation projects.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct site surveys to assess the condition of historic buildings and structures.
- Research historical documents and records to gather information about the building's history.
- Create preservation plans that outline the necessary repairs and restoration work.
- Work closely with clients to understand their needs and ensure that preservation plans meet their expectations.
- Coordinate with government agencies to obtain necessary permits for restoration work.
- Collaborate with engineers, historians, and other professionals to develop innovative preservation solutions.
- Oversee the implementation of preservation projects, ensuring that work is completed according to established guidelines and standards.
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as needed.
- Prepare reports on project status for clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Preservation Architect or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of historic preservation principles, techniques, and materials.
- Excellent research skills with the ability to analyze historical documents and records.
- Experience creating detailed preservation plans using software such as AutoCAD or Revit.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, government agencies, and other professionals.
- Understanding of local building codes and regulations related to historic preservation.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Historic Preservation or a related field from an accredited university.
- Experience working on preservation projects in Aalborg or other European cities.
- Knowledge of biometric passport requirements for international travel.
Salary:
This is a contract job with a salary of 1600$ per month.
