Entry-Level Interpreter in Esbjerg, Denmark
As an interpreter, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between individuals who speak different languages. You will primarily work with clients who do not speak the local language and provide interpretation services in real-time. Your role will require a high level of fluency in at least two languages, including the ability to accurately interpret spoken and written language. This is an entry-level position that does not require prior experience, making it ideal for students or those seeking to gain experience in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide interpretation services for clients in various settings, such as meetings, conferences, and appointments
- Accurately translate spoken and written language between two or more parties
- Research and prepare materials to ensure accurate interpretation of specialized vocabulary
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality while interpreting
- Adapt to different dialects, accents, and cultural differences between speakers
- Communicate effectively with clients to clarify any misunderstandings or ambiguities
- Keep updated records of all interpretation assignments and submit reports as required
Requirements:
- Fluency in at least two languages (e.g. English and Danish) with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent listening skills with the ability to concentrate for extended periods of time
- Cultural sensitivity and understanding of social norms in both languages/cultures
- Strong research skills to prepare for specialized interpretation assignments
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Flexibility to work irregular hours or on short notice
- Attention to detail with high levels of accuracy
- Familiarity with relevant technology such as translation software is a plus
Salary: 1500$ per month
