Reference Librarian


We are in search of a knowledgeable and experienced Reference Librarian to join our team at the Esbjerg Public Library. As a Reference Librarian, you will be responsible for providing reference and research assistance to library patrons, managing the library's collection of reference materials, and organizing and conducting educational programs for library users.

Your main duties will include assisting patrons with their information needs by answering reference questions, guiding them in using library resources and databases, and recommending appropriate materials for research purposes. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining the library's physical and digital collections of reference materials, ensuring they are up-to-date and relevant.

In addition to your reference responsibilities, you will also play a key role in planning and implementing educational programs for library users such as workshops, seminars, and training sessions. These programs aim to promote information literacy skills among patrons and provide them with the necessary tools to effectively access information.

To excel in this role, you should have a Master's degree in Library Science or Information Science. Previous experience working as a Reference Librarian is preferred. You must also possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong research abilities. Proficiency in using various digital resources such as online databases is essential.

As our ideal candidate, you should be customer-oriented with a passion for helping people find the information they need. Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus. We are willing to provide visa sponsorship for qualified candidates who require it.
