Mason: Building Restoration Specialist
As a Mason specializing in building restoration, you will be responsible for repairing and restoring historical or damaged structures in the city of Randers. Your work will involve using a variety of materials such as brick, stone, and concrete to reconstruct and strengthen walls, arches, and other structural elements. You must have a keen eye for detail and be able to work with precision to ensure that the restored buildings maintain their original aesthetic. Previous experience in masonry and knowledge of traditional restoration techniques is required for this full-time position. Accommodation can be provided if needed.
In this role, you will work closely with architects, engineers, and other professionals to assess the condition of buildings and develop restoration plans. You must be able to read blueprints and follow instructions carefully to ensure that the repairs are completed accurately. You will also need to have knowledge of local building codes and safety regulations to ensure that all work is done in compliance with standards.
Your main responsibilities will include repairing damaged walls, replacing missing or broken bricks or stones, repointing mortar joints, and installing new structural elements as needed. This may involve using hand tools such as trowels, chisels, levels, and plumb bobs as well as power tools like saws and drills. You must have physical strength and endurance as the job requires lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.
Attention to detail is crucial in this role as you will be responsible for preserving historical features while also ensuring the structural integrity of buildings. You must have knowledge of different types of masonry materials and their properties to select the most suitable ones for each project. Additionally, your expertise in traditional restoration techniques such as lime mortar mixing and stone carving will be highly valued.
To excel in this role, you should have at least 2 years of experience working as a Mason with a focus on building restoration projects. A certification in masonry or a related field is preferred. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential as you will be working with a diverse team of professionals and may also interact with clients. Being able to work independently and solve problems quickly and efficiently is also important.
This is a full-time position with a salary of $1500 per month. Accommodation can be provided if needed.
