Contract Librarian in Vejle, Denmark


We are looking for an experienced Librarian to join our team on a contract basis in Vejle, Denmark. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our library's collection of books, journals, and other materials. You will also assist patrons with research and reference inquiries and provide guidance on utilizing library resources. This is an urgent position with a competitive salary of 1200$ per month.

Key Responsibilities:
- Catalogue and classify library materials using standard systems
- Develop and maintain the library's collection by selecting new materials and removing outdated ones
- Assist patrons with finding and utilizing library resources for research purposes
- Provide reference services by answering questions and directing patrons to relevant resources
- Plan and conduct informational programs and events for the community
- Maintain accurate records of library transactions, such as loans, returns, and fines
- Train and supervise library staff members

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Proven experience working as a Librarian in a public or academic setting
- Extensive knowledge of cataloguing systems and classification methods
- Familiarity with online databases, digital resources, and electronic information retrieval tools
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to assist patrons of all ages and backgrounds
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
