Library Assistant
Location: Bayan, Kuwait
Salary: $1200 per month (contract position)


The Bayan Public Library is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Library Assistant to join our team. As a Library Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the library, including helping patrons locate materials, shelving books and other materials, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the library. This is a contract position with a salary of $1200 per month.

Responsibilities:
- Assist patrons in locating materials and answering reference questions
- Check in and check out materials using our library system
- Shelve returned books and other materials in their proper location
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the library by dusting shelves, straightening books, etc.
- Assist with processing new materials and conducting inventory as needed
- Provide basic computer assistance to patrons, such as printing or using the library's online catalog
- Participate in library programs and events as needed

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
- Previous experience working in a library or similar setting is preferred
