Librarian - Al-Rayyan, Qatar


We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our team in Al-Rayyan, Qatar. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection of books, journals, and other materials, as well as providing assistance to library patrons. This is a contract position that does not require English proficiency and is open to candidates of Indian nationality. Accommodation will not be provided for this role.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the library's collection by selecting and acquiring new materials, cataloging and classifying items, and maintaining organization.
- Assist library patrons with finding materials, conducting research, and using library resources.
- Develop and implement programs to promote the use of the library and its resources.
- Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and facilities within the library.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and developments in order to make informed decisions about collection development.
- Collaborate with other librarians and staff to plan events and programs for the community.
- Maintain accurate records of library transactions, including circulation statistics and inventory.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
- Previous experience working in a library or related setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of cataloging systems and classification schemes.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with diverse groups of people.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Familiarity with technology used in libraries such as integrated library systems (ILS) is a plus.
