Preservation Architect
A reputable architectural firm in Dickirch is seeking a skilled and experienced Preservation Architect to join our team. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for the preservation, restoration, and renovation of historic buildings and structures. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of 1600$. Preference will be given to Canadian candidates, however, foreigners are also encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting site surveys and assessments of historic buildings to determine their condition and identify potential restoration or preservation needs
- Designing and developing plans for the preservation, restoration or renovation of historic buildings while adhering to local laws and regulations
- Collaborating with engineers, contractors and other professionals to ensure the successful execution of preservation projects
- Conducting research on historical building materials and techniques to ensure authenticity in restoration work
- Creating detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for preservation projects
- Overseeing the construction process and providing guidance as needed
- Maintaining accurate project records and documentation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Preservation Architect
- Strong knowledge of historical architecture, materials, and techniques
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations related to historic preservation
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or other architectural design software
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate drawings and specifications
