Job Title: Library Assistant - El-Ain, UAE

As a Library Assistant in El-Ain, UAE, you will be responsible for maintaining and organizing the library's collection of books, journals, and other materials. Your role will involve cataloging new items, shelving books, assisting patrons with finding resources, and managing loan requests.

To excel in this position, you should have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. You must also possess strong communication skills to interact with library users and assist them with their information needs. Previous experience working in a library is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Cataloging new materials using the library's classification system
- Shelving books and maintaining organization of the collection
- Assisting patrons with locating materials and answering basic reference questions
- Managing loan requests and monitoring due dates
- Maintaining accurate records of library transactions
- Promoting library resources and services to increase usage
- Assisting with library events and programs

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Library Science preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus)
- Familiarity with library systems and cataloging procedures (experience with Koha is a plus)
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Interest in literature and knowledge of different genres
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed

Salary: 1600$ per month (negotiable based on experience)

This is a full-time position that does not require prior experience. The ideal candidate will have their own visa for employment in the UAE. Accommodation is not provided.
