Pastry Chef
A luxury hotel in the bustling city of Nakuru is seeking a talented and creative Pastry Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating delicious and visually stunning pastries, and will be able to manage a fast-paced pastry kitchen.
Responsibilities:
- Create and oversee the production of all pastries, breads, and desserts for the hotel's restaurants, banquets, and room service
- Develop new recipes and menu items in line with current trends
- Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all pastry items
- Manage inventory and ordering of ingredients
- Train and supervise pastry staff
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen at all times
- Follow all health and safety regulations
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel
- Culinary degree or equivalent training preferred
- Extensive knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train staff
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop unique dishes while adhering to budget constraints
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations
Salary: $1200 per month (negotiable based on experience)
