Job Title: Crane Operator
We are hiring a skilled and experienced Crane Operator to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials at construction sites and other work locations. Your main duties will include inspecting equipment before use, following safety protocols, and communicating with ground crew to ensure safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate should have a valid crane operator certification, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a team environment. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of 1200$ per month.
Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of cranes including mobile cranes, tower cranes, and overhead cranes
- Follow safety procedures at all times to ensure the safety of yourself and those around you
- Inspect crane equipment before use and report any defects or malfunctions immediately
- Communicate with ground crew using hand signals or radio to coordinate movements
- Maneuver loads safely and accurately according to job site requirements
- Keep accurate records of crane operations including load weights, times, and locations
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times
Requirements:
- Valid crane operator certification from a recognized training institute
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating various types of cranes
- Good understanding of crane mechanics and ability to troubleshoot any issues that may arise
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with ground crew
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards
- Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
