Job Title: Librarian at Faisalabad Library
As a Librarian at the Faisalabad Library, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection of resources and providing support to library patrons. You will play a crucial role in promoting reading and learning within the community and ensuring that resources are easily accessible to all.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain the library's collection of books, periodicals, multimedia materials, and other resources
- Develop and implement cataloging systems to efficiently manage library materials
- Assist patrons with locating and selecting materials, providing information about library services, and answering reference questions
- Plan and organize events to promote reading and literacy within the community
- Create displays and exhibits to showcase new or relevant materials
- Manage circulation activities, including checking materials in/out, collecting fines/fees, and maintaining patron records
- Train and supervise library assistants or volunteers
- Keep up-to-date with new technologies related to library services
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact with patrons of all ages/backgrounds
- Knowledge of cataloging systems (e.g. Dewey Decimal Classification) and familiarity with library databases/software
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Salary: $1500/month
