Pastry Chef
The Pastry Chef will be responsible for creating and preparing a variety of desserts, pastries, and baked goods for our restaurant in Washington. They will oversee the pastry team and ensure that all products are made to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking, a creative flair, and excellent time management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and prepare a wide range of desserts, pastries, and baked goods according to recipes and/or customer requests
- Oversee the pastry team and delegate tasks as needed
- Ensure that all products are made to the highest quality standards
- Order supplies and maintain inventory to ensure efficient production
- Develop new menu items based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- Train new pastry team members on techniques, recipes, and safety procedures
- Monitor food costs and work with management to develop cost-effective menus
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times
- Adhere to all food safety regulations
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Knowledge of various baking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and tools
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team
- Excellent time management skills
- Creativity in developing new menu items
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Food safety certification preferred
Salary: $1100 per month
Location: Washington (Preference for Malayalees or English-speaking individuals)
