Job Title: Librarian - Mombasa, Kenya


We are hiring a skilled Librarian to join our team in Mombasa, Kenya. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing library resources, assisting patrons with research and information requests, and promoting library programs and services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a collection of books, periodicals, audio-visual materials, and other resources
- Catalogue new materials and maintain accurate records of the library's inventory
- Assist patrons with research inquiries and provide guidance on how to access library resources
- Plan and implement programs to promote literacy and encourage reading among community members
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum
- Oversee the daily operations of the library, including circulation services, shelving, and maintaining a clean and organized space
- Train and supervise library assistants to ensure smooth functioning of the library
- Keep up-to-date with new technologies and trends in the field of librarianship

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Proven experience working as a Librarian or in a similar role
- Knowledge of cataloguing systems, reference tools, and online databases
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Passion for promoting literacy and providing excellent customer service
