Sous Chef - Indian and Filipino Cuisine (Clairvaux)
We are hiring a skilled Sous Chef to join our team at our restaurant in Clairvaux. As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in all aspects of the kitchen operations, with a focus on Indian and Filipino cuisine. This position requires creativity, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to create new menu items and specials that showcase the flavors of Indian and Filipino cuisine.
- Assist in managing inventory levels and ordering supplies.
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment at all times.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper hygiene practices.
- Collaborate with front of house staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
- Monitor food costs and make adjustments as needed to ensure profitability.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of Indian and Filipino cuisine, ingredients, and techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper hygiene practices.
- Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Salary:
We offer a competitive salary of $1500 per month, based on experience.
