Database Administrator (Contract)


Our growing company is in need of a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator to join our team. This is a contract position based in the city of Remish, Canada.

As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing our company's databases, ensuring their security, performance, and availability. This includes creating and implementing data backup and recovery plans, optimizing database performance, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in database management with excellent technical skills and attention to detail. They should also possess strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage company databases
- Create data backup and recovery plans
- Optimize database performance
- Troubleshoot database issues
- Ensure database security
- Perform regular maintenance tasks
- Monitor database activity and performance
- Collaborate with team members on database-related projects

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle)
- Experience with data backup and recovery methods
- Familiarity with database security best practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently under tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based databases (AWS, Azure)
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell)
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)

Salary: $1700 per month - contract position
Location: Remish, Canada - candidates must have their own visa/work permit
