Librarian Assistant in Utena, Lithuania


We are hiring a Librarian Assistant to join our team at the Utena Public Library. As a Librarian Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the librarian in managing the library's collection, helping patrons find materials, and organizing library events and programs. This is a full-time position with a salary of 900$ per month.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the librarian in managing the library's collection by shelving books, cataloging new materials, and keeping track of borrowed items
- Help patrons find materials by using the library's catalog and providing recommendations based on their interests
- Organize and lead library events and programs such as book clubs, storytime sessions, and workshops
- Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the library by arranging shelves, tidying up work areas, and reporting any maintenance issues
- Assist with administrative tasks such as checking in/out items, issuing library cards, and collecting fines
- Stay updated on new books and resources to provide accurate information to patrons
- Collaborate with other staff members to develop new programs or improve existing ones

Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a library or customer service role preferred
- Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of Lithuanian language is a plus)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Passion for reading and knowledge of different genres
- Ability to multitask and work independently as well as part of a team
- Familiarity with computer systems and basic office software (Microsoft Word, Excel)
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends when necessary
