Librarian - Utena, Lithuania



We are currently hiring a Librarian for our library in Utena, Lithuania. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing library materials, assisting patrons with research and reference requests, and promoting the library's services and resources. This is a full-time position offering a salary of 1100$ per month.

Responsibilities:

- Catalog and classify new materials according to established procedures
- Maintain the library's collection by weeding out outdated or damaged materials
- Assist patrons with locating materials and provide reference services
- Develop and conduct programs to promote literacy, cultural awareness, and library resources
- Create displays and exhibits to showcase the library's collection
- Train and supervise volunteers or interns working in the library
- Keep up-to-date with new technologies and trends in the field of librarianship

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Previous experience working in a library preferred
- Familiarity with cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal Classification or Library of Congress Classification
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to assist diverse groups of patrons
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Proficient in English language (fluency preferred)
- Biometric passport (or eligibility to obtain one)
