Head Pastry Chef



We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Pastry Chef to join our team at a luxury resort in Malindi. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the pastry department, including managing a team of pastry chefs and ensuring the production of high-quality desserts and pastries.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create and develop new pastry and dessert menus that align with our brand and concept
- Train and mentor pastry chefs to maintain quality standards and consistency in all pastry items
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure efficient operations
- Oversee the preparation, presentation, and service of all pastries, desserts, and baked goods
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen
- Collaborate with other departments to plan menus for special events or promotions

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting
- In-depth knowledge of different types of desserts, pastries, cakes, and breads
- Ability to lead a team, delegate tasks effectively, and manage time efficiently
- Strong creativity skills to come up with new ideas for dessert menus
- Attention to detail to maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes
- Excellent organizational skills to manage inventory levels
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards
- Degree or diploma in culinary arts or relevant field

Salary:
The salary for this position is $1800 per month. Additional benefits include accommodation, meals on duty, medical insurance, annual leave allowance, flight ticket home every 2 years (for foreigners), and opportunities for career growth within our company.
