Preservation Architect
Are you passionate about preserving historical buildings and structures? We are seeking a skilled Preservation Architect to join our team in Alta, Norway. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for assessing the condition of historical structures and creating plans for their restoration and preservation. You will also be involved in the design of new buildings that complement the existing historical architecture. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong knowledge of conservation techniques, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting surveys and assessments of historical structures
- Developing plans for restoration and preservation projects
- Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure successful project completion
- Researching and implementing conservation techniques to prevent deterioration of historical buildings
- Designing new structures that complement the existing architecture in historically significant areas
- Communicating with clients, stakeholders, and government agencies regarding project plans and progress
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
- Previous experience or coursework in historic preservation preferred
- Strong understanding of conservation techniques and materials
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Attention to detail
- Passion for preserving historical architecture
Salary: 1200$ per month
Location: Alta, Norway (candidates must have legal authorization to work in Norway)
