As the Head Chef at our fine dining restaurant in Alta, Norway, you will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations and ensuring the highest quality of food is served to our guests. You will have a passion for creating exceptional dishes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and have a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and create seasonal menus that meet our guests' expectations and align with our restaurant's concept
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation, including cooking techniques, portion control, and presentation
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food quality and service
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper stock rotation to minimize waste
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment according to health code standards
- Collaborate with management to develop new dishes and improve existing ones
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role in a fine dining establishment
- In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
- Creativity in menu planning and developing unique dishes that showcase local flavors
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Valid food handling certification
- Fluent in English (knowledge of Norwegian is an asset)
