Preservation Architect - Ashdod, Israel
A prestigious architectural firm in Ashdod, Israel is seeking a skilled and experienced Preservation Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in historic preservation and restoration, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for preserving cultural heritage. As the lead Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of preservation projects, from initial design to final execution. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, contractors, and team members. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of $900 per week, including accommodation.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of historic structures to formulate preservation plans
- Collaborate with clients to understand their goals and needs for preservation projects
- Develop detailed designs and plans for restoration, renovation, or adaptive reuse of historic buildings
- Oversee construction work to ensure compliance with preservation standards
- Manage project budgets and timelines
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other professionals involved in the project
- Provide guidance and support to junior preservation architects on the team
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in historic preservation architecture
- Extensive knowledge of architectural history and styles
- Strong understanding of building codes and regulations related to historic structures
- Excellent project management skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or other drafting software
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in English
and Hebrew preferred
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Historic Preservation or Conservation Architecture
- Experience working on international preservation projects
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations in Israel
