Preservation Architect
Position Overview:
As a Preservation Architect, you will play a crucial role in the conservation and restoration of historic buildings and structures. You will work closely with project teams, clients, and local authorities to ensure that preservation projects are executed with precision and in accordance with local regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site visits and assessments of historic structures to determine their condition and identify potential preservation challenges.
- Develop preservation plans that address structural, material, and environmental issues.
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other specialists to implement preservation strategies.
- Prepare detailed documentation of existing conditions, proposed interventions, and final results.
- Monitor progress of preservation projects to ensure quality standards are met.
- Provide guidance on maintenance and care of historic buildings to clients.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Architecture or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in preservation architecture.
- Extensive knowledge of historic building materials, techniques, and construction methods.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and guidelines for preservation projects.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other technical tools used in architectural design.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
Salary & Benefits:
This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $1700 per month. Accommodation will be provided as part of the compensation package. This position is suitable for individuals who are passionate about preserving cultural heritage sites.

This position is located in Svalbard - an archipelago situated between Norway's mainland and the North Pole. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on unique preservation projects in a stunning natural setting.
