Android Developer

We are seeking a skilled Android Developer to join our dynamic team in Bergen. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality mobile applications for the Android platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Android development concepts and tools, as well as experience working with Java and the Android SDK. You will collaborate closely with our design and product teams to ensure that our apps are both visually appealing and functional. This is a contract position with a salary of 1200$ per month, and we offer accommodation, visa sponsorship, and flight tickets for non-local candidates.

Responsibilities:
- Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Work with outside data sources and APIs
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
- Troubleshoot issues reported by users and fix bugs
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications

Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Android Developer or similar role
- Strong knowledge of Android SDK, Java, and Android Studio
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
- Understanding of mobile application development lifecycle
- Experience working with remote data via JSON/XML/REST web services
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles
- Experience with third-party libraries such as Retrofit, Volley or OkHttp is a plus
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is preferred but not required
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred but not required.

Location:
This position is based in Bergen but we welcome candidates from other locations as well. We offer accommodation for non-local candidates.

Contract Duration:
This is a contract position for 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project needs.

Salary:
The salary for this position is 1200$ per month.

Visa Sponsorship:
We offer visa sponsorship for non-local candidates.

Flight Tickets:
We provide flight tickets for non-local candidates to relocate to Bergen for the duration of the contract.
