Land Surveyor - Entry Level (Svalbard)



As a land surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting surveys to determine property boundaries, locations of buildings and other structures, and natural features such as streams and hills. You will work closely with engineers, architects, and construction professionals to ensure accurate and reliable survey data for various projects.

The ideal candidate for this entry level position will possess a strong attention to detail, excellent mathematical skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. While prior experience is not required, candidates with some background in land surveying or related fields will be given preference.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct surveys using various instruments such as GPS, total stations, levels, and drones
- Record measurements and data in digital or paper form
- Create maps and drawings using survey data
- Analyze survey results to ensure accuracy and identify potential discrepancies
- Communicate with team members to coordinate survey activities
- Adhere to safety standards while working on job sites
- Keep accurate records of surveys performed

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in land surveying or related field preferred
- Strong mathematical skills including geometry, trigonometry, and algebra
- Familiarity with land surveying instruments and software is a plus
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods of time
- Physically able to carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds over rough terrain
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
