Handyman vacancy in Svalbard Norway

Handyman

We are in need of a skilled and reliable Handyman to join our team in Svalbard. As a Handyman, you will be responsible for performing basic maintenance and repair tasks on various properties, both residential and commercial. This is a full-time position with a salary of 1100$, without accommodation.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs
- Inspect properties for any issues and report findings to the appropriate supervisor
- Repair or replace broken fixtures, appliances, and equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner
- Keep track of inventory levels and order necessary supplies when needed
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently and up to standard

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Handyman or similar role
- Strong knowledge of basic repair techniques in areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.
- Ability to use hand and power tools effectively
- Good physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and supervisors
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in residential or commercial properties is highly preferred
- Basic understanding of building codes and safety regulations
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency
- Knowledge of local suppliers for materials and tools
