Preservation Architect



We are seeking a skilled and experienced Preservation Architect to join our team in Lisbon. As a Preservation Architect, you will play a crucial role in preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures. Your expertise in architectural conservation, restoration techniques, and knowledge of local building codes will be essential in ensuring the successful completion of preservation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting thorough assessments of historical buildings and structures to determine their condition and necessary preservation measures.
- Developing and implementing preservation plans that adhere to local building codes and regulations.
- Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure the structural integrity of preserved buildings.
- Overseeing the implementation of preservation projects and providing guidance to construction teams.
- Conducting research on historical materials, techniques, and architectural styles to inform restoration decisions.
- Communicating with clients, stakeholders, and government agencies regarding project progress and compliance with preservation guidelines.
- Providing expertise on sustainable preservation practices to minimize environmental impact.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Preservation Architect.
- Strong knowledge of architectural conservation principles, restoration techniques, and building codes.
- Experience working on historical preservation projects.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or other design software.

Preferred:
- Master's degree in Historic Preservation or Conservation Architecture.
- Previous experience working on preservation projects in Lisbon or Portugal.

Salary: $1300/month (negotiable based on experience)
