Executive Chef for High-End Restaurant in Oslo, Norway
We are seeking a talented and experienced Executive Chef to lead the kitchen operations of our high-end restaurant in Oslo, Norway. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for creating and executing unique and innovative menus that showcase local and seasonal ingredients. You will also oversee all aspects of the kitchen, including food preparation, staff management, inventory control, and budgeting.
Responsibilities:
- Create and execute menus that reflect the restaurantβs concept and highlight local and seasonal ingredients.
- Train and manage kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation.
- Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies and place orders as needed.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop new menu items, specials, and promotions.
- Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized kitchen environment at all times.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
- Manage food cost by implementing portion control measures and minimizing waste.
- Develop relationships with local suppliers to source high-quality ingredients.
- Conduct regular menu tastings to maintain quality standards.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a fine dining establishment.
- Extensive knowledge of local Norwegian cuisine as well as international culinary trends.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and manage a team of kitchen staff.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with other members of the management team.
- Ability to create unique menus that appeal to a diverse clientele.
- Good understanding of kitchen operations including inventory control, budgeting, and food safety regulations.
- Biometric passport or eligibility to obtain one.
Salary: 1200$ per week (negotiable based on experience)
