Junior Librarian


We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Junior Librarian in Herning, Denmark. As a Junior Librarian, you will assist in managing and organizing the library's collection of books, media, and other resources. You will also provide support to library patrons by assisting with research and reference inquiries, helping them locate materials, and providing instruction on how to use the library's resources.

In this role, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of library programs and events aimed at promoting literacy and lifelong learning. This may include planning and hosting book clubs, author talks, or other educational activities for library patrons.

To be successful in this position, you should have a passion for books and knowledge, as well as excellent organizational skills. As a Junior Librarian, you should also possess strong customer service skills and be comfortable working with people of all ages and backgrounds.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the library's collection of materials by shelving books, organizing media, and maintaining inventory records
- Provide support to library patrons by answering reference questions and helping them locate materials
- Assist with developing and implementing library programs and events
- Provide instruction on how to use the library's resources
- Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons by providing excellent customer service
- Monitor the condition of materials and recommend replacements when necessary
- Keep up-to-date with new releases and trends in literature to make recommendations to patrons

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with an eye for detail
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of different literary genres preferred
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Fluency in Danish (or willingness to learn) is preferred but not required

Salary:
As a Junior Librarian based in Herning, Denmark your salary will be 1400$ per month.
