Job Title: Contract Librarian in Faro, Portugal


We are currently seeking a highly organized and passionate Librarian to join our team on a contract basis in Faro, Portugal. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our library collection, providing reference and research assistance to patrons, and promoting library programs and services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and organize the library collection including cataloguing, shelving, and weeding out outdated materials
- Provide reference and research assistance to patrons by helping them locate information and resources
- Promote library programs and services through outreach activities such as book clubs, workshops, and community events
- Develop and maintain partnerships with local schools and organizations to provide library resources to the community
- Collaborate with other librarians to create engaging displays, activities, and programs for all ages
- Stay updated on new technologies in the field of library science and implement them into daily operations

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working as a Librarian in a public or academic library setting
- Strong knowledge of cataloguing systems, reference tools, and information resources
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with library management software
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Salary:
The salary for this position is 1600$ per month.
