Freelance Interpreter in US



We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced freelance interpreter to join our team in the United States. As an interpreter, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between speakers of different languages in various settings, including meetings, conferences, and other events.

Salary:
The salary for this position is $1000 per day. This rate may vary depending on the length and complexity of assignments.

City:
This job is based in the United States. However, due to the nature of the role, you may be required to travel to different cities within the country.

Experience Required:
The ideal candidate for this position should have at least 5 years of experience working as an interpreter in a professional setting. You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and at least one other language. Experience working with biometric passports is preferred but not required.

With Accommodation:
Accommodation will be provided during assignments that require overnight stays. However, candidates must be willing to cover their own travel expenses to and from their place of residence.

Urgent Jobs:
As an interpreter, you may be called upon for last-minute assignments that require immediate availability. Therefore, flexibility and availability are crucial for this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken or written communication accurately and efficiently between speakers of different languages
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times
- Familiarize yourself with the subject matter before each assignment to ensure accurate interpretation
- Provide cultural context when necessary
- Take notes if needed for accurate translation
- Ensure proper use of interpreting equipment
- Adhere to professional standards of conduct

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in linguistics or a related field (preferred)
- Proven experience as an interpreter in a professional setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and at least one other language
- Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Strong time-management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
