We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our construction team in Funchal, Portugal. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating various heavy machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, and cranes to assist in the construction of buildings, roads, and other structures. Your primary goal will be to ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment while working closely with the construction crew.
Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, and cranes safely and efficiently
- Follow specific instructions from site managers and supervisors
- Inspect equipment before use and perform routine maintenance as needed
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations on site
- Keep accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and repairs
- Communicate with other crew members to coordinate tasks effectively
- Troubleshoot any issues that may arise during operation of equipment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Valid biometric passport for international travel (Portuguese nationality preferred)
- Minimum of 1 year experience operating heavy equipment in construction industry
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Familiarity with various types of heavy equipment including bulldozers, excavators, and cranes
- Physical strength and stamina to operate heavy machinery for extended periods of time
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment
Salary:
Starting salary for this position is 1700$ per month without accommodation. Salary may be negotiable depending on experience.
